Is it important for couples to sleep in the same bed?
As a newlywed, Rick and I have enjoyed sharing a bed every night, discussing our days and winding down together with our nightly routines (teeth, face, hair, lotion on feet, water with ice next to bed....). We don't always cuddle but try and touch feet or even hold hands (I know it's silly). However, we have learned that several of our friends choose not to sleep in the same bed for various reasons and seem to love this arrangement. I've often wondered how many married couples share this preference for sleeping separately. According to report on GMA this morning, 1 in 4 couples sleep separately, that's more than I thought. The full video is on the side of my main page. I would love to hear your comments as well---agree/disagree?

I am a big fan of the seperate beds. Never used to be, but my husband is a homocide detective and is coming and going at all hours of the night. Sometimes we do share a bed. But, if he is on call or working nights- it is seperate beds for us. Sleep never used to be an issue until we had our VERY sleepless daughter almost four years ago. I can count on my hands how many times she has slept through the night. What sleep we can get- is critical and sacared. But, i think it is whatever works for your own family sitution. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell, while pregnant I think seperate beds is ideal in the last trimester :) But other than that we seem to know each others comfort zones pretty well. However we are both still young and restless nights and snoring are yet to be an issue...time will tell
